1. What Legacy Vault is

Legacy Vault is an estate-handoff tool that helps you record asset information and release it to chosen heirs after your death. It is not a legal will, not a substitute for an attorney, and not a custody service for your assets themselves.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you store and for keeping your account credentials safe. You agree not to upload unlawful content or content you do not have the right to share.

3. The release process

A release can be triggered by: (a) your inactivity beyond your configured check-in window, (b) your designated executor using their one-time link, or (c) heirs co-signing a release request with a death certificate. Every release enters a waiting period during which you can cancel. After the waiting period AND admin verification of the supporting documents, the vault unlocks for your heirs.

You acknowledge that the release process depends on you keeping check-ins current and your contact email reachable. We are not liable for releases triggered because you missed check-ins, nor for delays caused by missing verification documents.

4. No legal or financial advice

Nothing in Legacy Vault constitutes legal, tax, or financial advice. Consult a qualified professional for estate planning decisions.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use Legacy Vault to defraud, impersonate, harass, or harm others, to store illegal material, or to attempt to access vaults that are not yours.

6. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a security or legal risk.

7. Disclaimer & liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
